The long holiday has come to an end, and it’s time to dust off those books! Over the break, some of our children had so much fun with games, family visits, and endless adventures that they might have forgotten that school even exists. But with schools reopening this week, the homework rush is on, and everyone’s gearing up for a fresh term.

At Maji Kwa Watoto, we didn’t take a holiday. Oh no, we’re like an immortal force—always ready to serve. While the kids were busy having fun, we kept supplying water to orphanages and even hosted our incredible annual December festival. (Yes, it was as amazing as it sounds!) Now, as schools reopen, we’re rolling up our sleeves to ensure that all 62 schools in our program have clean, reliable water. No school will be left behind!

Of course, getting back to routine is no easy feat. It’s been a while for teachers and staff, and everyone’s adjusting. If there’s such a thing as "muscle memory," is there “memory memory” for those who've been doing this for years? (A joke, but we’re serious about the hard work!)

Parents, too, are in for the ultimate wake-up call—literally! Gone are the days of sleeping in or working late nights without hearing, “Mum, Dad, you didn’t come home early, so I couldn’t finish my homework!” Especially now with the new CBC curriculum, which has confused many parents since day one—and let’s be honest, it still does unless you’re fully engaged.

Amid all this chaos and hustle, Maji Kwa Watoto stands tall, ready to meet the challenge. We may have reset a bit during the holidays, but we’re back to ensure that no thirsty child is left behind. Whether it’s one orphanage or all 62 schools, we’re here to deliver water and smiles!
